On July 22, 2024 (Monday), Nissin Foods launched three new products nationwide: “French Cup Noodle Lobster Bisque Flavor,” “French Cup Noodle Chicken Supreme Sauce Flavor with Truffle,” and “French Cup Noodle Sea Bream and Scallop Bouillabaisse Flavor in Provence Style” (each at a suggested retail price of 259 yen, excluding tax).
The French Cup Noodle series offers a more luxurious “Cup Noodle” experience with the highest-quality soup ever in the history of Cup Noodle. Here are the features of each product:
- French Cup Noodle Lobster Bisque Flavor
This soup features a rich, deep flavor with the essence of lobster and vegetables, accented by herbs. It is finished with a lobster-flavored paste for a luxurious taste. - French Cup Noodle Chicken Supreme Sauce Flavor with Truffle
This cup offers a rich and creamy soup with a prominent chicken flavor, enhanced with a special truffle-flavored oil. - French Cup Noodle Provencal Bouillabaisse Flavor with Sea Bream and Scallops
This soup combines the umami of seafood like sea bream, scallops, and clams with the fresh acidity and sweetness of tomatoes. The addition of a blend of four seafood oils creates a layered, bouillabaisse-like taste.

I am curious about all three varieties, but I decided to try the “French Cup Noodle Chicken in Supreme Sauce Flavor with Truffle”.
It comes with “Special Truffle Flavor Oil” on the lid.
Pour boiling water into the cup and after 3 minutes, add the “special truffle-flavored oil,” stir well, and it’s ready to eat.
The soup is indeed very rich, just as described earlier! The creamy, rich broth has a strong chicken flavor and is enhanced by the fragrant aroma of truffles. The noodles, characteristic of Cup Noodle with their smooth and supple texture, are perfectly coated with the soup. The white mystery meat and other ingredients provide a great accent, making it exceptionally delicious.
Although the flavors are different, it will surely be a hit for those who enjoy “Cup Noodle Thick Creamy Clam Chowder” and similar varieties.
When asked, “Is it French cuisine?” the answer would be, “No, this is Cup Noodle.” However, it has a unique taste compared to the usual “Cup Noodle” series, so it is definitely worth trying.
